the bandwagon
Recently I received the gift of internet at home so I thought it was high time to join all my cool friends who blog. My life is pretty quiet right now, which is great, but quietness does not lend itself to exciting entries of what I’ve done in the last week. However, life is providing me with lots of thinking time and so I suppose it’s only right that I document something – in case I think something good by mistake.
My daughter Kate is my pride and joy – all the platitudes and cliches about children are true. I am so thankful for this time in my life. Some other things that have led up to this moment:
working a job way over my head during high school and college – at a local small business that sells telephone systems
helping with the youth groups at a couple of different churches
getting a teaching license – and never really using it
working at a Hallmark store – everyone should work retail at some point and be forced to learn to do it well
working as a church administrator – the most fun and challenging of all my jobs; nothing like having your finger in a million pies at once
things I like: books, music, cooking, long walks, movies, Jane Austin, showing off Kate, the New Yorker, ice cream, lemon shake-ups, sweet tea, fresh bread, traveling, mountains, lakes, the ocean
things I don’t like: bugs and or animals in my house, tomatoes, large groups, elevator music, being the center of attention, primitive camping, most non-fiction books (I wish I was smart), CLUTTER
